Luxury designer lighting company FLOS recently unveiled the Kelvin LED Green, an eco-friendly update to the original Kelvin, by award-winning designers Antonio Citterio and Toan Nguyen.
Crafted in Italy, the Kelvin is available in five models and equipped with 30 TOP LED 3000K 275lm CRI 95 bulbs, a chrome adjustable arm and a reflector. With its highly efficient bulbs consuming only 7.5 watts, the stunning lamp is an environmentally sensitive art piece. (Traditional lamps use 60 watts)
The Kelvin LED Green is available in two models, with a daylight sensor or a daylight sensor/ motion sensor, and in colors anthracite, chrome, glossy white and glossy black. The combination of two sensors in one light is incredibly unique in the world of lighting, adding to the piece’s green consciousness. In order to activate the daylight/motion sensor, simply sweep your fingertip over the touch sensor on the lamp head for a few seconds until it turns on; sweep again to turn off.
Known for his design innovation, Citterio’s projects include Ermenegildo Zegna Group’s corporate headquarters in Milan; Bulgari Hotels in London, Milan and Bali; residential buildings in Japan, Italy and Singapore and the conversion of Milan’s former post office building into a major office complex.
Based in Italy, FLOS offers a complete range of residential, commercial and custom-made lighting products that seamlessly integrate into and enhance any office, home or public space. The brand’s catalogue showcases designs from the history of design: forms, lighting techniques, original creative concepts invented by FLOS and enjoyed by consumers around the world. FLOS also assists architects, not only as a manufacturer, but as a specialty lighting-systems designer for museums, theaters and other challenging environments.
FLOS USA recently premiered its online shopping site, and to celebrate, unveiled a new contest “FLOS:Pixel” offering the first 36,000 visitors a chance to “own” a pixel of the new store, and by doing so, a handful of lucky participants will take home an iconic FLOS light. http://www.flosusa.com/pixel/
Jan Vingerhoets, CEO of FLOS USA, explains, “FLOS Pixel is your ticket to win the ‘Light of your Dreams.’ As ‘Curators of Dreams,” we want to inspire others as we ourselves have been inspired.”
The allocation of pixels will run for two months, and winners will be contacted on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. FLOS products are available in retail locations across North America and online at flosusa.com.
