Latin superstar Marc Anthony recently performed two sold out shows at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The Puerto Rican American singer, who was born in East Harlem (Spanish Harlem), did not disappoint the primarily Latino crowd, representing Mexico, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Peru and many other Latin American countries.
Anthony invited us on a trip down memory lane performing many of his salsa hits from over the years, including Contra La Corriente, Y Hubo Alguien, Hasta Ayer and Valio La Pena. The concert featured an encore with Anthony’s recent smash hits Tu Amor Me Hace Bien and Vivir Mi Vida.
Audience members were hoping for an appearance by Anthony’s ex-wife Jennifer Lopez, who recently joined the singer onstage for a surprise duet at a New York concert stop, however no sign of JLo unfortunately. The former couple just announced that Anthony will produce Lopez’s next Spanish language album.
Anthony’s charisma, showmanship and of course, the voice described as “from the angels” made the two hour show fly by, as he playfully interacted with audience members, took selfies and encouraged all to sing along. And sing along they did with the superstar on each and every song.
Anthony, who has sold over 12 million records worldwide, can definitely unite the almost 7,000 attendees with his music. He urged audience members to make their voices heard in the upcoming election, telling them that after this election, they won’t mess with us anymore (however using a much stronger word).
