Eldad Hagar, who has a passion for our four-legged friends and their well-being, started rescuing animals off the streets at an early age. When he moved to Los Angeles, he quickly became aware of the pet overpopulation problem and founded Hope for Paws, a nonprofit organization dedicated to help save the lives of homeless animals. http://www.HopeForPaws.org
“We rescue dogs and all other animals who are suffering on the streets and in the shelters,” said Hagar. “Our goal is to change the lives of these animals, place them in loving forever homes, and educate people on the importance of companion animals in our society.”
One of his latest rescues is of Houdini, a Chihuahua Rat Terrier mix who was living on the docks at the Port of San Pedro for years before Hope for Paws stepped in to save him. Once a helpless dog, living on scraps and afraid of people, Houdini is now loving life, and awaiting a forever home. http://bit.ly/HoudiniRescue1
Abandoned in rivers, thrown out on highways, or discarded in dumpsters… these are some of the stories Hope for Paws receives daily. Without a minute’s notice, Hagar is out the door and off on his rescue mission. No matter what time of day or night, he’s saving the lives of others, one paw at a time.
