The ever popular touring car show Hot Import Nights (HIN) held their event on the Del Mar Fairgrounds this past weekend on April 4th. It’s been a few years since Hot Import Nights has come to San Diego, and spectators were thrilled. Cars were set up inside the Bill Crosby Hall, the Exhibit Hall and outside. To the delight of the show-goers, there were familiar San Diego County Fair (formerly known as Del Mar Fair) edibles such as deep fried artichokes, funnel cake, and polish sausage.
Vicki Lee, chosen as Miss HIN 2015, strutted her stuff alongside Janey B., another featured model. Other women were available in abundance to take pictures next to cars, dance to strobing lights, and give out free prizes to rally the crowds. Various vendors were set up at HIN, one of them being NS Wheels. Located in El Monte, California, they are a “high-quality, vintage, aluminum wheel line geared toward the tuner vehicle market.” Their booth featured two modified Scion vehicles featuring a set of their impressive NS M01 wheels (information on these wheels and more can be found on their website provided below). Other vendors included O’Brien’s Auto Repair, Zevo Automotive Lighting, and much more.
Car lovers and enthusiasts alike came to enter their vehicles solo or with their car crews. One impressive crew was Scion Image, an all Scion car club. One of their members, Gabe Gonzalez, described his experience at HIN, “Hot Import Nights is a cool event, it brings together a bunch of cultures that don’t normally hang out… I enjoyed meeting new people. It’s more than just winning a trophy, it’s a way of life.”
Hot Import Nights, we expect you to come back to San Diego next year, and continue on doing so! We look forward to the slick cars, greasy food, and the memories that come with it.
